RAKI BEATS

RAKI BEATS is the raw, boombap driven side project of Sydney producer Dysphemic. A homage to his Greek heritage, every track is built strictly from dusty Greek vinyl samples, chopped, flipped, and reimagined into heavy, head nodding beats.

The name takes inspiration from Raki, the fiery, homemade Balkan spirit, a perfect metaphor for the sound: raw, unfiltered, and strong. Just like the drink, these beats hit hard and will leave your face contorted like you just smelt a dead rat.

Unlike most beat tapes, every RAKI BEATS set is performed 100% live on an MPC, bringing the energy of hip hop’s golden era into a modern, immersive performance.

Where Dysphemic’s main project spans electronic bass music, RAKI BEATS strips things back to the essence, boom bap at its most authentic. Pure rhythm, pure soul, and pure malaka culture.
