Orthentix

Hailing from the Northern Rivers, NSW, Orthentix is a multifaceted artist, embracing the roles of music producer, DJ, blogger, and radio broadcaster. She crafts indie electronica inspired by the legion of bass genres. Conceptually, her music delves into introspection, mirroring the intricate human experience. Sonically, she is all about breakbeats, phat basslines, and lush melodies with a profound vocal hook. Her latest release, Depthsword, a Drum and Bass dance track with a jungle vibe and an atmosphere of spirituality converging the street, has gained traction with 4K views on YouTube and over 4K streams on Spotify.

Having graced Australian festival stages, including Earth Frequency Festival, Newkind Festival, Nunyarra Cultural Festival, and Deliverance, Orthentix's fierce femme DJ performances captivate audiences, using her platform to showcase many female-produced tracks in her mixes. Female producers comprise only 3% of the industry's music producers, so she feels bringing these songs to the forefront is essential. She is quite the selector, dropping bass-ridden bangers from Dubstep to Drum and Bass. At times, even performs her self-produced electronic tracks. Orthentix is signed to Matriarch Records and is one of the coordinators and resident DJs/broadcasters of radio show Sista’s of Spin on BayFM. She advocates inclusivity and diversity in the music industry and uses her platform to amplify marginalised voices and challenge gender norms.
