Workshop: Basket Weaving

Finally, a Basket Weaving workshop on Wytaliba!! My friends are amazing, please join in if you can, it’s the day before Stockwood, good way to start!

Hi!

We are Martina and Vanessa, we would like to invite you to join us for our one day basket weaving workshop.

We are both passionate basket weavers and have been for years, and for us weaving is more than just creating a basket. It is also finding an ancient part of ourselves that knows how to connect to our natural surroundings, through harvesting fibres and communicating with the plants that provide for us.

The techniques you will learn were shared with us by and through the Yolngu women from North East Arnhem land, which we deeply respect for their generosity in sharing this beautiful gift!In this one day basket weaving workshop you can choose if you want to learn either twining or coiling technique and make a little basket to take home.

All the fibres  (natural fibres from the local environment) as well as teas, coffee and lunch ( pumpkin soup and homemade sourdough bread ) are provided and included in the $95 for the day.
